The Northern Whig

Today’s blog is inspired by Back in Belfast, shops, bars and restaurants are offering offers and discount to try and encourage customers to return to Belfast after all the protests. The other week my boyfriend and I took up the Northern Whig’s Back in Belfast offer.

This is the Northern Whig, 2-10 Bridge Street, Belfast.
This was the menu we chose from, surprisingly a lot of different meals to chose from. Sometimes places don’t offer that much when they do promotions so we were pleasantly surprised.
My boyfriend chose the hot and spicy chicken wings, he didn’t really enjoy them that much though, he likes spice but said these were very spicy and not enough chicken on them. I think that’s chicken wings for you, you rarely get much chicken on them.
I chose the chicken liver pate, it was really nice but for the amount of pate you got, there really could have done with there being more melba toast, which wasn’t very crispy I have to say.

After our so, so starters we weren’t that hopeful about our mains . . .
My boyfriend chose the grilled haddock and said it was lovely, nice an fresh and the fish was cooked perfectly.
I went for the lasagne

It came with a side of chips and garlic bread, all of this was just gorgeous, and the garlic bread was to die for!

Thankfully we were proven wrong with our mains, they were really tasty and well worth the money! We would definitely go again and I would recommend anyone to go to the Northern Whig and try this Back in Belfast offer! I’d also recommend the cocktails if you don’t have to drive, in my opinion one of the best bars for cocktails in Belfast and a good price too! Check out their website
Lots of love
