Saturday 11th January made it 2 years since I was told that my cancer had completely gone! So to celebrate Ryan took me out for the night! He let me pick whatever restaurant I wanted and we both decided on The Rabbit Rooms in Bangor.
We’ve been here a couple of times and have had a really good night and always say we should go down more often, even just for a few drinks or should I say teapots!
We had a delicious meal topped off with a teapot cocktail! 😀
For starters I talked Ryan into picking the Sharing Nachos (I had to have the sour cream on the side and he would eat the jalapenos). Nachos topped with melted cheese, guacamole, salsa, jalapenos (and sour cream on the side).
As you can see it went down well! It was really nice and not too filling for our starter.
Washed down nicely with some Guinness and Mango and Raspberry Rekorderlig this flavour is one of my favourites and The Rabbit Rooms are the only place I have found that do them!
For our main, Ryan went for the Gourmet Burger – 100% char-grilled beef, caramelised onion jam, brie, rocket and mushroom with sweet potato fries.
I went for the BBQ Pulled Pork Burger – 100% char-grilled beef topped with shredded pork shoulder and barbeque sauce, smoked cheese, apple coleslaw and onion rings with french fries.
Dinner was WOLFED down! This was the first time we had tried one of their burgers and it definitely won’t be the last they were amazing! Mine was so massive I ended up having to eat it with a knife and fork, I just couldn’t get my mouth around it! Everything tasted so nice, even the apple coleslaw, if this had been on the side I know I would not have tried it but it really was lovely and I will be eating it again! Ryan too enjoyed his burger, especially the big wedge of brie!
At this stage we were absolutely STUFFED so opted out of the desserts, however there were a couple I would definitely like to try! Let me show you their menu . . .
