Sunday was wedding fair No2 for myself and my trusty side kick Sarah. This time it was a bigger fair than last week and was hosted by The Wedding Box at the Clandeboye Lodge. At the moment I have a few friends planning their wedding and a couple of other who are newly engaged and I have been asked is it worth your while going to wedding fairs? So I thought I would suss this out for them, making sure to photo the stalls of all the local businesses involved, including the wedding venue. I spoke to a couple of the people on the stalls and the main bonus to wedding fairs are the fact that you can plan your wedding, everything you need under the one roof, you have a few different business offering the same things that you can find out prices from and get your right price. You can work out your budget and more than anything you can become inspired and gather ideas for your perfect day!
So let me show you everything from Sunday’s Wedding Fair
This probably is in a totally mixed up order but hey that’s me, miss scatty, so stick with me
THE VENUE
So like I said the fair was held at The Clandeboye Lodge, a popular wedding venue. This would be the main room where you can get married, showing an example of how the room can be dressed alongside the stunning roses.
Throughout the fair there was a constant flow of food to try, all gorgeous I must say! I had a mini burger (delicious, but a little messy to eat, how I managed to stay clean I don’t know!), a cream filled meringue with raspberry coulis, the shortbread when we sat down for a cup of tea and the fish and chips before we were leaving. My mouth is watering just thinking about them!
Tables were also set up to show the layout of the room and what table creations you could have.

THE WEDDING LIST
The Cape Table from Holywood were showing off some of their unique items perfect for a wedding list. They also hire out wedding cakes! I thought this was a fantastic idea and one I had not heard of before. What you do is you hire the cake (like the one above) get a cake made for the top layer so it matches in, then you can cut and eat it without any cake going to waste and at a remarkable cut of the price!

MY REVIEW OF THE CLANDEBOYE LODGE WEDDING FAIR
I have to say the Clandeboye Lodge is one of the best wedding fairs I have been to. Greeted at the door by friendly staff, who were welcoming and helpful throughout the whole fair, with a glass of sparkling rose wine. Amazing food samples from the venue, gorgeous setting, loads of different local companies for literally everything you need for your wedding. Lots of places to sit down and have a break, not too cluttered and over powering! It was also great to have a booklet letting you know all about the wedding packages at the hotel and who was attending the fair.
I also got to meet the lovely Kerry and Greig who met on take me out, fell in love and are planning their wedding at the Clandeboye Lodge next year! What at gorgeous couple and such friendly people, they were kind enough to meet up with me, have a little chat and pose for a pic!
Finalising all their wedding plans and needs at the wedding fair the couple are super excited for the big day! I don’t want to give away anymore info, my lips are sealed but I am 100% sure the wedding will be amazing and Kerry will be one STUNNING bride!
So should you bother going to a wedding fair? I’d say yes, even if it is just to get some ideas, find out who your local companies are and visit different venues.
x
Zane, many thanks for your link to your blog, very informative and interesting, especially as we did not get chance to walk about ourselves.
