Wednesday; Dad and I headed down to Dublin for the day, a mini holiday under 2 hours drive down the road, different currency and the phone would be roaming so yeah, it’s kind of a mini holibob, a road trip for sure!
First off we decided to get some breakfast in Belfast. We picked The Ground Floor, Belmont Road, Belfast, Dad went for the all day breakfast and I went for a chocolate chip and pistachio scone with a salted caramel cappuccino (I am in love with this scone!!).
And we set off, 1hr 30mins down the road and 1euro 90 for the toll.
First off shopping and some pictures . . .
Then we stopped for a spot of lunch, before heading down on Wednesday I decided to look up some quirky places to go for coffee, I found a couple of places but The Pepperpot, Powerscourt, Dublin caught my eye.
The food was delicious, so fresh and tasted homemade. I loved the quirkiness of The Pepperpot and Dad (who is a bit of a picky coffee drinker) even complimented how good the coffee was! I would 100% recommend trying here, amazing food, well priced and really friendly and welcoming staff.
Once again it was back to the shopping, browsing and photo taking . . .

After a lot of walking about and a bit of shopping (not much I really fancied in the shops, especially Penny’s, perhaps it was the wrong time of year) we decided to get a drink and something to eat.
We decided to go to Café en Seine, Dawson Street, Dublin, Dad had been before, but this was my first time, a great atmosphere and I loved the interior!
Drinks first, I went for the Jungle Juice (delicious, I’ll have to try and make it at home) and Dad went for a Peroni.
And this was our food! YUM!!!
After a great, yet long day it was time to head home, definitely a bonus driving, means we didn’t have to wait about for the train or have to sit with other people or not get a seat at all.
The bridge looks so pretty all lit up!
